How much?

We have been looking at some interesting things the last couple of days in the context of business. I haven't really spoken much about my involvement in business, basically I am working with an IT company that is involved in providing web technology to other resellers. I will be posting more on what we are doing and the various discipleship opportunities that are facing us some other time.

One of the questions that we have been bantering around is this. In the context of a Christian business, how should salaries be determined? Should they be based on a market-related figure? Should they be based on a persons experience? Should they be based on a persons contribution to turnover? Or should they be based on need?

Here are some scriptures to provoke some thought:

Proverbs 30:8,9 "Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonour the name of my God."

2 Corinthians 8:13-15 "Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, as it is written: He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little."
