House Update & Community Living

Well we signed for our new house at the end of last week. This will be the first home that belongs to us (and the bank). We are tired of paying off someone else's bond. Since we have been in Cape Town we have payed huge amounts on rent, Cape Town being one of the most expensive places to live in South Africa. Before we move in we are going to have to do quite a bit of stuff - the whole interior needs some serious paint work and new carpets. We are excited by all the cool design possibilities that this old converted barn has, and even more excited about it being ours.

The amazing thing is that this is just the one house on the property. Andrew and Debbie have signed for the other place. Basically there are two seperate houses, fenced off and everything on a quarter of an acre plot. Theirs is a huge house that will be their home as well as our new offices. We will also have access to their almost olympic size swimming pool and their well-point which will assist in getting our garden up and running. The benifits of living in community... there is even talk of a vegetable garden...as well as our own dress code and horse drawn buggies. And no TV of course!
