Waves of Change in South Africa

As most of the world knows, South Africa celebrates 10 years of 'Freedom' from Apartheid this year. It has been the most awesome experience to be a part of this developing nation. There are those that are still extremely negative about SA and for their sakes, 'rightly' so as there are still many negative things taking place, like in any nation. Many of these people have fled to Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Canada.

There is however a wonderful 'new' breed, a new generation of South Africans developing: Those who love this nation, those who choose to look beyond the negatives and those who choose to call South Africa their own. They are willing to fight for it and willing to die for it. They are black and they are white and they choose to remember the past, but only as a reminder, never wanting it to interfere with the possibilities of the future.

I received this picture via email today (and am aware that it belongs to Getty Images), this for me captures this new generation, choosing to connect, while the unwilling, the traditionalists turn their back on change. I don't want to push the SA thing too much, but it is even a cool picture of the new 'Kingdom Generation' that we see emerging.
