Thoughts from a Wedding & CNN

This last Friday I helped a long time family friend get married at Zorgvliet. It was an awesome wedding, not because of the guy who performed the ceremony, but because God was involved. I had the opportunity to talk about living out our marriages counter-culturally and in the context of the Kingdom of God.

For those of us who are married and who know God, it is so easy to forget the privilege of being able to look to Him for direction and guidance. We can sometimes get hacked off with the world for failed marriages, like the recent Brad & Jennifer separation, and forget that something created by God needs His detailed involvement.

Talking about failed celebrity marriages, if you were the devil, who would you target if you were wanting to taint the gift of marriage? Celebrities, people of influence perhaps?

Sadly South Africa has one of the highest divorce rates in the world, current divorce statistics in SA illustrate that one in three marriages end up in divorce. What's even more sad is, I am sure this statistic also applies to those in the church.
